Audiobooks are Neat!

Did retry downloading an audio book; one of my favorite authors, James Patterson was included so naturally I wanted to listen. It was easy to do it, just took some time to download. But then I am noted for impatience with the computer. I particularly like the feature where you can speed up the reading of the feature. I may make use of this when I become more proficient with techie gadgets.

Exuberant Babies!

It's Monday morning and I am subbing for Miss Nancy in her lapsit class. At first, they were a bit quiet since I was a new face. But halfway into the class, the babies were awake and rockin'! All present, even the moms and dad were ringing, singing, dancing, laughing, marching, stretching, and having a ball. Since I usually begin work at 1 PM, this was a wild awakening. Monday mornings can be fun too.

Semiliterate Techie

I did it! A big thank you to Kim for helping out with an image. I created my own personal wiki entitled casualmeanderings. It took me more than 60 seconds. But,hey, I am a deliberate worker.

Another Piece of Cake?

Am I being lulled into a false sense of competency? Thing 4, Wikis, was another easy task. Again, I accomplished the task and didn't even realize it. Thanks to Miss Nancy for her patience in assuring me. I seem to like Wikis better than Google Docs because of the collaboration with others. It is actually fun! I may even attempt the challenge. Oh, my gosh, did I write that?

Hodgkins Christmas Party

This gray morning I was a guest storyteller at the Hodgkins Christmas Party in the library. I had great fun, reading stories, telling stories, and of course, singing and acting out songs! The adults in charge are awesome-timed activities down to the second! Also, Santa visited the children and handed out gifts. Even I was rewarded with a gift box of treats which I promptly wished to share with Kim & Jennifer & Miss Patti. But will Miss Nancy be back in time to share? A great time was had by all.

Thing 3

This was a piece of cake! Perhaps I am becoming more open minded about technology.
Bring on the next thing! Wait! I don't know if I will be able to go back and edit the document or edit other people's docs, but hey, one step at a time!

Jingle Bell Babies

Boy, the babies today at lapsit were all wound up; perhaps because of cabin fever. But I wound them up even further. Thanks to Kim for her creative idea and construction of jingle bells, both groups were really hoping!
We learned some new songs for Christmas, rang our bells, and just generally had a ball. Even the second Wednesday group which is usually silent came out of their shells and participated in the songs, fingerplays, shaking our sillies out, and marching. A grand time was had by all-especially Miss Roberta.

Alas, the only sad note. My exuberant twins Reese and Jack will graduate to Miss Patty's class in January. But I will still be able to see them. The babies grow up so fast!

RSS SOS!

Today I was TOTALLY confused. I read the directions over 3 times. I viewed the video. I still had no idea what to do. Miss Nancy saved the day. She patiently explained step by step but it was not clear. I already had subscribed and didn't know it. I cannot see myself visiting Google Reader when I can go straight to the web sites I wish to follow.
Also, the printed directions were EXTREMELY difficult to read because of the small font and the quality of print. I hope the next assignment will be easier to follow and more beneficial. In short, I am discouraged and disappointed.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

9:15 AM on Wednesday and Youth Services is already rockin. Full group of babies in the early lapsit class were laughing, marching, clapping, and generally enjoying life. What a way to start the day! This is work? Class ended with everyone's high five and a regrouping in the northeast corner of YS. Life is good!

Babies Everywhere!

Wow! This week we are starting a new session of 4 lap sit classes. Three are full!
What job security! I see babies everywhere including numerous mothers-to-be.

In addition, the Junior Explorers' class on Monday was very enthusiastic. They eagerly constructed moccasin art and dove into the homemade cornbread.
